Small lot production describes the manufacture of a small number of items of the same type and design.
The production run varies from between three and one hundred items. Unlike industrial mass production, products are made in small numbers for a very limited market only. Production is considerably more expensive. Small lot productions are common in product design as well as in the crafts. A “limited edition” is produced in considerably greater numbers that a small lot production.
