This is unique in the history of Red Dot: Uncontested for five years, Emamidesign once more takes first place in the international ranking of design studios in 2015.Our creative Berlin agency again prevailed against the strong top-class competition from the US, China, South Korea and Great Britain. We are very happy about this continued success because it is an appreciation of on-going creative performance and consistent well thought-out work; and the entire team around the head of the studio, Arman Emami, deserves it.
The prestigious Red Dot Design Award has been awarded since 1956 already. The “Red Dot Design Ranking: Design Concepts” was introduced in 2011 and annually rewards the overall performance of the best universities, studios and companies. The ranking is considered to be the most up-to-date and best-known index of the quality and innovative energy of designer organisation and the evaluation includes the type and number of the coveted Red Dot awards. This year, 4,680 contributions from 61 countries faced the evaluation by an international jury of famous designers, publishers, professors and specialized journalists. The awards were ultimately bestowed for 344 design concepts in 31 categories.
Since 2009, Emamidesign has won a total of 19 “Red Dot Awards” as well as five “Red Dot Design Awards: Best of the Best” for its exceptional, trend-setting and sustainable products and design concepts in fields like electronics, furnishing, mobility and research. An accomplishment that has already earned the company first place in the Red Dot Design Ranking in the category Design Studios for the fifth time in a row. In 2015, we are thus not only the only German agency in the top 10, but also the only studio world-wide with a top position in the Red Dot Ranking since the category was introduced. Major groups like Samsung or LG can only hope to equal us.
Arman Emami feels, apparently quite rightly so, confirmed in his thinking and his design approach: Aspects of marketing, production, ecology and economy should be taken into consideration during the creation phase already. Because not only aesthetics and usability but also sustainability and efficiency are essential factors that can be controlled with product design. Holistic product design will gain importance in the future and is already the key to lasting economic success.
