Conventional reusable straws can be difficult to clean thoroughly, as moisture and residue may remain trapped inside, making proper maintenance more demanding for both households and professional environments.
This is precisely the problem addressed by the patented SLIDERSTRAW concept developed by EMAMIDESIGN. The straw consists of two precisely engineered parts that can be easily separated and reassembled. This allows complete access to all internal surfaces, enabling thorough cleaning without the need for additional tools.
After use, both halves can be placed individually in the dishwasher and cleaned just like conventional tableware. Smooth, groove-free surfaces further prevent residue buildup and simplify maintenance.
The design follows the principle of functional innovation. Rather than relying on cleaning brushes or additional accessories, SLIDERSTRAW eliminates the root cause of the hygiene problem through an intelligent structural solution.
Laboratory testing conducted by Goethe University Frankfurt confirmed the concept’s superior hygienic performance compared to various alternative reusable straw systems.
