The design of the E.ON smart home device finds its origin in the form language of mathematical formulas (algebraic design). An algebraic surface is described by a polynomial equation. The points of the algebraic surface are exactly the points that satisfy this equation. If the points of the 3D space are described with the coordinates (x,y,z), the polynomial equation could i.g. look like this: x+y = (x+y+z). If all the points (x,y,z), which satisfy this equation, are found, the following related algebraic surface emerges: an apple-like shape. It’s the first time that an algebraic surface of this formula was taken as an inspiration for a shape. Mathematics and technology merge into one product with modern and technical characteristics, focused on the essentials, but with a refreshingly new and unique form. With E.ON Center all compatible smart home devices can be controlled centrally. The device is operated via voice control and via the circular user interface with touch function, which is positioned on the upper surface, easily visible and operable.
