SQUARE combines robust functionality with a clear and precise design language. The portable hard drive was developed to meet the demands of a high-quality mobile storage device while creating a distinctive visual identity.

A defining feature is the combination of gently curved top and bottom surfaces and a surrounding silicone frame. Through the interplay of proportions and materials, the product appears significantly thinner than its actual dimensions, creating a refined and elegant appearance.

The silicone frame also serves an important functional purpose. It protects the enclosure from impacts and helps absorb shocks in the event of accidental drops. Complementing this protective concept are titanium-carbide-coated stainless steel panels that provide excellent resistance to scratches and everyday wear.

By balancing functionality, material quality, and visual lightness, SQUARE set new standards for the design of portable storage devices as early as 2011, demonstrating how technical innovation and precise design can be combined in a single product.
